I was at the hairdressers last week (as you do!) enjoying a cuppa while reading some magazines, when I came across an article about Dion Dublin, footballer. I'm not into football...more a cricket person, me... but one of his photos showed him with his tenor sax, so I stopped to read a bit about him.
Anyway, seems he invented a Dube - a cube shaped drum, with a microphone inside - more like bongos than a Kahon.
I've never seen one, and I'm not sure some of the snippets of it being played on his web-site have convinced me. I'd like to see it in a band situation, but I thought I'd share my little bit of new knowledge with you. Also, I can't work out if the mic plugs into anything...there must be a mic-out socket on it somewhere, surely?
