PA & Amps The DIY busking amp

In one of my previous posts it came up that there is a DIY busking amp made by @Taz however the pictures of the post have been removed I think so I didnt understand anything. I went busking for two days and made enough money to buy a car battery now.
If possible could you post those pictures again please so I can figure out if my technical skills are enough for this or not
secondly can I simply set this up to power a 15w bass amplifier (with a 12v car battery for example) (because that is what I already have and it would be cheaper and more convenient to set that up rather than finding a car stereo and speakers)
Sorry if this is obvious physics but I wasnt very well at that in high school.

All help is appreciated even if you are just laughing to my lack of electronics knowledge.
Thanks

Unfortunately I think I deleted the pictures as they were taking up space, alas like the DIY busking box, it no longer exists. However I will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have on its construction.

So can I connect a 12v car battery to a 10w bass amp? and what kind of connection would I need for that?

If you're going to do this, try and find a caravan type battery. They're designed for longer/slower, deeper discharge than you usually have with car batteries.

If you want to use a 12v battery with mains gear you need an inverter. Which may cost more than the Amp and speaker.

Car batteries are heavy and messy and potentialy dangerous. A Leisure battery is safer but still rather cumbersome. Sealed lead acid batteries for mobility scooters are more compact and easier to lug around.

For a good sound you'll need a good cabinet as well as good speakers.

here we go again everytime I stick my nose into this idea of sticking backing tracks on the price keeps going up and up and eventually I give up.
I think I ll start rioting in front of the city hall demanding plugs for buskers anybody wants to join me 😀? I might actually demand some sandwiches and lemonade while I am on it

The biggest investment you need to make at the moment is time. Practice till you have an acoustic act. About an hours worth of material polished to perfection. Then go play and save the money to buy equipment.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
