Pete,
Inspired by your good advice, slackened the Bell/Body band and used a light, four pound, club hammer to adjust the bell.
Doesn't seem to be working all that well, any suggestions?
 
Didn't know Dolnet had a detachable bell! Looks like a Selmer Mk VI!:)))
 
Reminds me of Dizzy Gillespie's upturned trumpet bell - to hear himself better. Closer to home, President Young mastered dressing to the right about 70 years ago - and in his younger days turning the sax right round on its neck. The only ever revelation as to why was given to an interviewer in typically oblique style "It's showbusiness".
