Tenor wanted

Hi....I was originally trying to swap my YAS62 for a tenor without much of a result (bit reluctant to lose it, anyway)....so here we go! I need a tenor, and as an impoverished pensioner, can't really afford to shell out on a new 'pro' horn, so I thought I'd see what is about. I don't mind doing a bit of work, or enlisting my friend 'Griff' on a 'project' i.e. something that needs a bit of attention! A successful deal will lead to the usual contribution to Pete's fund, of course.
I'm open to considering pretty well anything, so throw 'em at me guys!

You're probably better off selling the YAS62 on Ebay, unless it is in poor condition, they pretty much always fetch well over £1000, then look for something as a cash buyer. Your options will be vastly improved 🙂

Do you fancy a very nice old Selmer Pennsylvania for £350 in a nearly Hiscox new including pp? I already have a great Mauriat 66 and am playing alto mainly these days so it's surplus to requirments.

In that case Di, I'll pm you - its a great sax - absolutely up together. I wasn't planning on selling but simply responded to the post above. Cheers

Sorry Jonners....didn't see it until after Di did. I don't know much about them, but I imagine it's a nice sax, so good luck. I'm really hoping for something like a Yamaha YTS32'''''ish.

No worries Paul. The Penn is a great old (cheap) vintage sax but no substitute for a YTS32 or similar. I was sort of tempted to go for your YAS62 but I do need to clear out a bit of space under the cupboard first. Good luck with the search. Cheers

Why do you want to swap your 62 for something else? Are you after some money or a different sound?

Just found this Tenor on Ebay. 6hrs to go.

I have one that i am happy with, may need a bit of tweaking, but then you will have as Stephen Howard says, for the money, an instrument of unbelievable value. and what is also a plus you dont need to sell your Alto to pay for it.
I made a youtube video the day after i recieved my Ed Pillinger MP. So as you can imagine a few weeks on with a selections of reeds, and getting used to the tenor, i am more than happy.
I will post the youtube link for your info.

Just in case you fancy a trip to London, I am selling a Dolnet Bel Air trough Willie Garnett at Ritz Music. He usually has more horns for sale, some of them real bargains. If you end up buying mine, I will make a £40 donation to Pete's charity.
