I believe our very own Pete Thomas features on this great Old Grey Whistle Test clip of the incomparable Richard Thompson, together with Pete Zorn.

Check out the tie, the dancing, and the coup de grace - the altissimo. Zorn stands NO chance.....

Dooce , I was going to say "Blimey, look at that tie!" before I came back and read your last line! Quite a performance - and well researched.:welldone

I've got the album with that line-up and that song. Absolutely great, I must go back and listen to it again.

Thanks

Rhys

PS Sax anorak point - what is that nasty growth Pete has on his neck (sax neck that is) ? Maybe a fitted pick-up, but it looks like he was using a mic for this Whislte Test recording.

Pete,
We know where your son got his Ronaldo like footwork from but how did his football weekend go? Will he be able to keep his old man in Mk Vl s during his dotage? ;}

Actually, he has no desire to become a professional footballer, he is not sure he could cope with the nightclubs and fights.

Last weekend his time didn't quite make the semis in their tournament.

But here is a vid of one of his best goals (in slow motion) from a previous match:
