I don't know how many of you know about Kickstarter, a way of funding projects of various kinds including album recording. When used in this way it's a bit like a prepurchase: you pledge a certain amount of money - if the target is reached the project goes ahead and the backers get rewards - typically a copy of the album or whatever the project creates. It's a very creative idea and lots of hours can be happily wasted browsing the list of projects that inspired people come up with. https://www.kickstarter.com/

Every now and then I am tempted to back one: in this case an album of standards that Kiki Ebsen did in memory of her father. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/buddyebsen/to-my-dad-buddy-ebsen-for-fathers-day-love-kiki

The album as a whole is pretty good, but I really like her take on Tea for Two ... you can hear it from her facebook page here:

I can take or leave the verse, but from around 45 seconds in, a deliciously creamy sax accompanies her ....

sweet stuff.
