the t.bone Ovid System CC 100 – Thomann UK
I've been looking at cheap ways of plugging my sax into my guitar effects pedals and wondered if this Thoman mic is up to the task..
My existing clip on mic has a lot of handling noise - the mechanical pickup of the keywork via the clip and the body of the mic and movement of the cable means a lot of unwanted low frequency thuds that can't be filtered out or got rid of by padding the clip, so I need something with better isolation and shock absorption..
I was thinking of getting the Audix mount - Audix MC 20i – Thomann UK and a cheap lavalier mic and belt pack, but I spotted the Ovid and wondered if it was any good..
Obviously a DPA or SD Systems mic would be better, but I don't want to shell out too much dosh for a project that won't have much commercial potential..
Perfect soun qhality isn'r necessary, I'm going to be going through all kinds of sound mangling effects in my Zoom and Alesis pedals or in Audiomulch on my latop, but I do want a good amount of isolation from handling noise and pick up of other instruments onstage - when you're in full on Terry Riley meets the Daleks mode you don't want thud-ud-ud-ud-ud down a long repeating delay spoiling it all
