Movie correspondent here- This one’s interesting- a film about New York’s ‘black woodstock’ in 1969. Part social history and part cracking good concert movie this one’s well worth a visit.

Nina Simone, BB King, The Staples Singers, Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone and many others all at the top of their game filmed on proper film stock- giving everything a gorgeous colour tinge and warmth. Aside from the great music there are interviews with the bands and punters- many of which are quite moving to listen to….

I hadn't realised this was a doc as well as concert footage! Really can't wait to see it now.
