As part of the Exeter Vibraphonic Festival in March I am running an afternoon taster workshop for beginner improvisers on Bb/Eb saxes and brass. It will run 2pm to 5pm on Sunday 21st March in the Exeter Phoenix which is right in Exeter city centre. Because it is part subsidised by the festival, it will cost participants very little (about £10 I think). Booking is via the Phoenix http://www.exeterphoenix.org.uk
but anyone interested needs to talk to me first about their level of playing. People need to have good basic facility, know their major scales and be able to read easy jazz standards. I will cover basic theory on chords, major harmony and modes and work through a handful of easy jazz standards. We will be working with a piano player and bassist and I will be helping on drums. There are only 10 places. Call me on 07966 034 884 if you are interested or PM me. Pete
