Stay High - Top 40 Sax Cover

High There (hehe)

There's been a track on the radio in the Dutch top 40's and I really liked the rythm of the singing (sounds like tuplets..)

I've started the track by following the original melody quite strict.. but as the track progresses I'll let it go more and more. And when I listened to it, I realized that words can make something more intresting to listen to.

if you play the same rythm over and over it's hard to keep it intresting (to my ear) so I added some things here and there and added some improv at the and.

hope you enjoy!

edit: the track is about staying strong through adversity although the lyrics dont say it in such way

I like it Koen, you have a nice touch (and I really like the tones that you're getting).

We must have this song out over here, as I recognise it from the radio (when I take the kids to school, they gang up on me and take over the car radio, so I have the pleasure of listening to their music every morning. Some good, some bad, same as it ever was 😉 )

I don't realy know how to interpret that you like the tones I'm getting, but if you like it it must be a compliment ;-) thank you! and thanks for listening.

the original track is: Tove Lo - Stay High

I'm currently an intern at an engineering company working out a project so I'm designing and typing and researching all day long. And the radio's at my side accompanying me (internet streams/youtube arent allowed) and sometimes giving me inspiration/the urge to record a track. As it did with this recording and my previous recording of addicted to you.

Definitely a compliment. You are able to keep it smooth and then put an edge on it that works really well (for example, around 1:20). Great stuff :thumb:

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
