Hi Folks
We are back with our latest workshop in Leicester. This time its on a Wednesday and takes place at the Leicester South Salvation Army Hall, in South Wigston.
As usual the day is ope to anyone aged 11 and over (it is mainly adults but with a few dedicated youngsters) with 12 months of playing experience, and will cover a large ensemble rehearsal and performance on a piece that has been especially arranged for the day, and the afternoon is dedicated to learning/improving your improvisational skills.
We have had quite a few members of the Cafe Saxophone community attend previous days and it would be good to see you and some new faces join us for this one.
The doors open at 9.30am giving you time to unpack, mingle, drink tea/coffee and generally get ready to start playing from 10am. Lunch is at about 12.30pm and we have a very nice onsite cafe that covers that need, you can of course bring your own lunch if you wish. The afternoon session starts at 1pm and is led by Nick Hislam, a local Jazz player and educator. This session is aimed at players of all levels, beginner through to experienced improvisors. Music is sent out in advance to allow you to get the most out of the day.
There is no need to worry about parking as there are 70 free spaces at the venue.
The acoustics are brilliant in this venue as the building was designed with music making in mind. The cost of the day is still £30 per player and will make a donation to Pete's charity for every forum member that attends.
To check out videos and pictures of previous events go to the staxofsax facebook page. if you wish to reserve a place please get in touch either through the forum or staxofsax<<at>>gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you
regards
Dave and Chris and Nick
Ps please spread the word to any non forum members as the more the merrier.
thanks
