StaxofSax workshop Friday 5th April 2013 Leicester

Hi Folks

Having just about recovered from the Thirsk workshop at the weekend, we have now booked our next Leicester event.

We will cover large, samll and jazz ensemble sessions with performance opportunities throughout the day.

Cost of the day is £30 and its open to anyone over the age of 11 who has 12 months minimum playing experience.

We start playing at 10 am until 3pm with a 30 minute lunch break (more playing time)

If anyone would like to join us for the day then please let me know. There are plenty of pics and videos on the Staxofsax facebook page.

any questions please ask

best wishes

Dave

Thomas, we have got spies out looking for venues around Derbyshire at the moment, If we find a suitable one we will aim to run a Sunday workshop. If your free then we could finally meet.

As you know the problem we have is the venue we use in Leicester is the Salvation Army hall and so is busy on a Sunday and I am a teacher so work during school term time and Saturdays too.

If you know of anywhere near you that may be suitable, it needs a main room plus some smaller breakout rooms and not be too expensive, please let me know and we will happily investigate. ps reasonable acoustics would be useful too. It can be a local community centre or something like that.
best wishes

I've not been able to think of anywhere so far. Will try to keep it in mind though. Would very much like to attend one as soon as possible. But distance isn't the issue for me, just having one on a date when other things don't get in the way. It was most frustrating that I'd already booked for the Liverpool Jazz weekend and so couldn't make Thirsk.

I have just emailed a place called the Beetroot Tree to see if they could hold an event. its near junction 25 of the M1. I have also got a lead from Mel that I will chase up. So more events could be happening soon.

I will keep you all updated.

cheers

Dave
