I can agree he can really play the sax (what an understatement) but I can't get into the music. I keep trying.

To me he was the tenor version of Paul Desmond.
Yes. I've never been able to warm to either of them very much. I can admire their playing, but not really love it. All a matter of taste, of course.

I like to think of myself as having "eclectic tastes" in music. Some styles like hard bop and dixieland I like but can only take small doses at a time. I can listen to Getz bossa novas and Paul Desmond all day, but that is just my taste. I guess I'm just a mellow sort of guy.
