Greetings all.

After promising not to touch anything, break anything, or otherwise be a bad lad, I am delighted to launch a brand new, shiny SOTM.

For your delectation I give you:

Feeling Good.

The ever fantastic Nigel has provided a backing track and dots based on the classic Nina Simone version which, if I've worked out how to use this thing, you can access here:

To get you in the mood, here's Nina's version, laid over an incredible contemporary video:

There are, of course, other versions that may inspire you. The ubiquitous Mr Bubbly gave it a go (albeit in a different key):

Little known beat combo Muse played a blinder:

And here is an instrumental backing track that is a joy to play along with:

Looking forward to hearing what we can do with this, enjoy :)

We play that song with the Big Band. Here is a recording from some years ago made in Rotterdam (NL):

Unfortunately the sound is a bit distorted and the baritone is a bit (too!) loud in the mix.

Rather quiet this month! A pity, because it's a great song.
But we have reached the end of the month so I would like to thank @TimboSax for acting as host.
As usual, this thread will remain open, and further contributions are very welcome.

Sorry Nigel, I did start working on it and had some half assed take but nothing I would want anybody else to listen to and then life happened. I'll still try to finish the song, I really like it but it'll take a few days

Thanks Nigel, but I don't feel I did anything!

I reckon with all this balmy weather, everyone's been on the beach topping up their tan :)

I didn't even manage to record anything, which will be rectified once I'm back home from my hols. In the meantime, I'm visiting museums dedicated to what @Stephen Howard does on his days off...
