Hi all - For Mays Song of the Month I thought I would try something by the great Burt Bacharach - the problem is, there are just so many great songs to choose from! After a bit of deliberation, I have gone for "What the world needs now"- I chose this for no other reason than I really like it :0)

Here is the link to the files

I have included a slower & brisker version mp3 - there is a whole bar of 3 & a beat "count in" to the 2 beat lead-in to the accompaniment start - the song loops through to bar 32 twice and then on the third time jumps from bar 13 to the coda

Here are a couple of classic versions....

Great choice, Chadders! The mp3 for alto is in C major at an easy 3/4 time. I like the slower pace of 90 as it leaves time for contemplation by the listener. The next 1 1/2 weeks could be a bit busy, but I will work on getting something out there.

@wuffysax Thank you for that - what a great interpretation. Loved the playing and really enjoyed the build up & the octave change - Great backing track too..

Lovely version by Stanley Turrentine

It's the end of the month, so I would like to thank @chadders for acting as host, and also to thank the contributors.
As usual, this thread will remain open, and further contributions are very welcome.
