Hi,
A pleasure to be asked to host this months song. Summer, and all that, Blue Skies seems a nice, straight forward GASB tune which seems not to be in the Great Cafe Song Book yet.

@nigeld has kindly provided a transcription and some backing material here in all voices and 170 or 140 BPM.

And Ellas has a loverly rendition

and I'll kick off the Sax version with Stan Getz

Kick back, think of the sun that is/should be shining outside and, I hope, have fun.

Pianist Thelonious Monk based “In Walked Bud” on its chord progressions. “Blue Skies”

When i listened to the Stan Getz version, i was thinking to myself i’ve heard this !!
It was ‘In Walked Bud’ that I’d heard as i learnt it (to an extent) a few years ago, still enjoy playing it
Well something must be going on, in between my ears 😂

Very pro, virtuosic and upbeat salsa for sure.I honestly wouldn't expect anything else from you Alex.

Here is my "hot" from 2017 busking version. I hate posting old tracks on new threads but with luck it may encourage me to have another look at this fantastically positive tunage.

Hi Clive. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your track🙏

Kind regards.

Alex

Just a quick reminder, the end of the month is looming - although there no real deadline, still time to knock a quick recording out before the other half gets home.
For B&I-ers, give the head and chorus a quick blow. It's fun.

A pinch and a punch and the end of the month for this tune.
Some fab examples and a little history lesson; what's not to like?

Thanks to the contributors and @nigeld for, yet again, providing dots and backing. And @Jeanette for inviting me to host.

Contributions remain welcome up until when the universe's event horizon collapses.
