Some Unaccompanied Tunes...

Thought I'd press record on a couple of the tunes I'm always playing when I'm outside. Trying to display that Dry Hollow tone that I've been working on.

First is a great tune that I don't even know the name of. It's a gospel groove song from a youtube video I saw back in the day.
Wicked intro. Lots of altissimo and stuff.

Second is Someday my Prince Will Come. A tune that I've always loved.

Lastly Round Midnight. Another great tune. I took some liberties with this one....

Time and tuning stick out in spots. I always like playing like this more though. Maybe because this is where most of my playing normally gets done I feel a little more in my element.

Enjoy

All were nice.Liked the Gospel groove the best.Yea the freedom of just going outside and playing is great.I use to stand on the bow of ships in my shorts getting a very nice tan when i went to sea in my job back then.I use to love it.

Ha, Thanks.

Yeah, I play a version of that tune with my trio. It's basically just the intro and the whole song is over the 1 and 4 but the "groove" keeps coming back.

Look up Kevin C. Funk Saxophone on youtube. That's the original video I saw when I was like 18
