Hi Everyone,

What are your recommendations for a modern soprano mouthpiece that is close to the Selmer Soloist for sop? The originals are too pricey for me.

Thanks,

Robert

Try a Bari ebonit. I don't know if it's a Selmer Solist copy but the Bari gives you a round and "old time" soprano sound. Here in Sweden the Bari's goes for c £40.00-42,00. They are right now on sale. I'm playing Dukoff D6 or Selmer Solist D (metal) when I blow soprano.

Thanks Thomas. I normally pay on a Bari or Super Session myself. I have never had the chance to play on a Soloist and wondered how they would sound. I know that the Bari, SS and the Yanagisawa HR pieces I have all have the round chamber like the Soloist. Even if I could justify getting one, I'm not sure that I would be gaining much soundwise.
