Accessories SKB vs. Hiscox....a warning to Bari players.

I use a HIscox Lite Flite tenor case and love it. Luckily it's yet to be fully tested, and hopefully never will be but it seems strong enough to take a major knock. Unfortunately, Hiscox don't make a baritone case apparently due to the variations in size of the instrument (low Bb/A, Bells and so on.)
I ended up getting an SKB case which fits my low Bb Couf/Keilwerth just fine.

However, although it has D rings built in to the design to accommodate a shoulder strap there was no strap included so I purchased an SKB shoulder strap separately. My first impressions were that this was just far too flimsy to take the weight of the loaded case and I was proved correct on the first test drive.
Fortunately I tried it out over a sofa and the case only fell a few inches so nothing got damaged, but just compare the strap that came with the Hiscox with the SKB model, the build quality is a different league. Also the SKB strap material is what you might expect for carrying, say, a camera case whereas the Hiscox is more like a seat belt which is so much more reassuring.

I will, but I've also taken it up with Hiscox. Sadly they don't make a longer strap which I could use, but the tenor one may work.
