Does anyone know where to get sheet music for Shirley Steps Out, the Benny Goodman tune? I've looked all over and can't find it anywhere. I've got the first little bit by ear but then get lost so having the dots would help. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Just looked at that link and it looks great, thanks. What a good idea. Now you mention it, I dont know if Band in a Box does the transcription thing. I have that software but never looked beyond playing with backing already in there. I'll see if I can put music in and it gives me the music.

Asking for stuff you've already got and didn't know. I thought only I did that. Good luck with it.

Try using the ACW feature in BiaB it will give you all the chords at least..

Chris..

Hi Shirl,
just did a bit of a google and couldn't find a transciription for you but
it's not such a difficult tune, bit of a mickey mouse tune and Benny's solo is not exactly brain bending. :)
I use "Transcribe" for stuff like this - feed the track in - split it into beats and bars
slow it down - use the A - B function and off you go!
It's a bit diddley diddley doo ba, da dooby do wah.
If you want to learn to transcribe or if you want to transcribe a tune or solo
"Transcribe" is the way to go. You can slow down, speed up, repeat phrases, bars and goodness knows what else.
I didn't check the key when I listened to the recording but it's a few chord trick.
If you need the chords I'll check it out for you, but don't ask me to transcribe it I'm trying to learn to play piano.
gruss - spike

Thanks everyone, will give Transcribe a look too.
