Setting yourself a challenge

This may seem a bit silly, but at work I was talking a few days ago about a documentary about Oliver Postgate, that I saw on BBC4.

Something for most generations here, Noggin the Nog, Pogles Wood, The Clangers, Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss etc.
For me it was Captain Pugwash.

So, as one thing leads to another, I'm trying to play the Captain Pugwash theme (trumpet hornpipe) on saxophone.

Mastering it won't assure you a gig, but it can only help your chops.
I'm finding it very tricky, but fun.

Any wizards here who have mastered it yet?

Back in my youth Captain Pugwash used to be cult viewing, along with The Magic Roundabout. Now that was a long time ago, when we still held the World Cup for the round ball game......

Wasn't into Captain Pugwash but Magic Roundabout was brill and I'm sure far more entertaining to adults that children!

Oh yes, although almost mandated watching, Pugwash wasn't as crucial as Magic Roundabout. A load of us used to rush round to someone's house from respective 6th form/tech college to watch Magic Roundabout.

Co-incidence. There was a crossword clue yesterday that asked for the name of the rabbit in Magic Roundabout.
