Saxophones Sequoia drift from Selmer alto itch

I recommended to David that he take a look at the Lemon Sequoia @aldevis. I also think at this level of horn purchase David should try out the Sequoia as I am not sure where he can go if he doesn't like Selmer SBA, S80, Radio Improved, etc. Try out the Sequoia and give yourself a chance to discount it from your list David.

You are in London next week!!!!! You don't have to go to Burgess Hill.......go and see Aldevis! Or meet at Howarths!

if you told someone you`s bought a Sequioiuiouioiua Lemon they`d say "Take it back and get a good one

We can call the model as you prefer, it not written anywhere.
Sequoia superpowers?
Sequoia lightspeed?
Sequoia Circus Maximus?

...just idly looking, as I do, I've come across a Sequoia Lemon alto for £500 and a Sequoia Booster Alto for £650. What is the "Booster" bit Aldevis? Which do you prefer, and why?

Are there any demos of either of these on the 'net? I can find a few tenors on Youtube, but not alto.

Thanks. Always intrigued by something different!

Oh... and what would these two models cost new, in the U.K. (no larking about this time!) 😉

£500 is a serious bargain. Where is it?
I don'fancy the booster, but funk people (and some classicals) really love it.
I will look for some videos. On a mobile now.

I must check current prices, but we are looking into about €2000. With current exchange rates, a real bargain.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqmpUAFmwRE....Aldevis playing his three Sequoia horns.

What is the Booster horn Aldevis?

Currently, both Lemon and Booster altos, go for €1700 plus shipping (only for instruments available now in the Italian workshop).
About £1350 shipped to UK

Peanuts...

Is it a different model? If so how does it vary?

Bodytube is treated differently and has a different, heavier, finish.
Of course we know from the internet that this does not affect the sound, but they feel quite different.

And I love the unlacquered look of my limoncelli. No question.

How old is your own limoncello Aldevis? Do you have a photo of it to show how the finish ages over time?
As you know, my Grassi is "raw" and ageing.
I just realised... I could have two bare Italians!?

Why did Sequoia produce the Booster? Is it designed for a certain style of play? Are all models available? Is it more expensive?
I think that the main reason is that Mr. Sequoia likes powerful horns.
It exist in alto and tenor. (for baris there is a waiting list, so they are almost made on demand, and I tried a copper experimental piece to die for)
Same price.
Some models might be discontinued. To be clear, we are talking of about 500 saxophones an year (SATB combined). If a horn hasn't sold, it will not be made again in the next batch.
Prices for alto are the same. There is a slightly cheaper version that will probably be discontinued and a 85% copper body in the pipeline.

Tenors vary very little (+- £50). Again there is a cheaper "Classic" that didn't hit me.

Has silver proved popular? The Booster appears to only come in two colours.
