My mint condition Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, serial number 130,164 (circa 1963) was stolen on "Christmas Eve Eve" (meaning: December 30), 1989 in sunny Detroit, Michigan, in front of a bar called "Alvin's Finer Deli." The bar still exists today, twenty years later (December 5, 2009).

It was in the locked trunk of my 1985 Chrysler LeBaron GTS, which I left for all of five minutes to go to the ATM to get cover to go into the bar....

Some pathetic, garbage druggie types stole the car for a joyride to Hamtramck (a few miles North of Detroit), where they ditched it after smashing the windows (probably without a golf club, a la Tiger's wife) and found the saxophone in the trunk. I got the car back (yeah, I know, big deal....).

The sax was mint. I mean MINT. It had cork risers on the palm and side keys. The lacquer might disclose this. A dime sized spot on the bell near the front and top and outside is slightly more rose colored than the rest of it.

Other than that, not a scratch on it.

It played as good as it looks.

Substantial reward offered for return.

Location is Royal Oak, Michigan, a suburb about 15 miles Northwest of Detroit, Michigan USA.

Thanks......
