should all selmer mark v1,s "tenor" have matching serial numbers on the back bottom of the main body and the crook ?
or are there any exceptions ?

I think that lots of the European-assembled MkVIs did not have any serial numbers on the crook. I know that my tenor (1962) and alto (1957) don't.

There was also a thread about this on SOTW.

PS If there are serial numbers in both places it would be good if they match !

I would think that most MkV1 saxophones bought in the UK wont have a number on the crook. A friend of mine bought a MKV1 alto in the USA and that one has the number on the crook. They don't all have MKV1 stamped on them either. The serial number identifies MKV1 saxophones.

🙂🙂 An old thread I know but have a look INSIDE the large end of the crook. mine all have the number scratched there. I seem to remember this from SOTW. Regards 🙂🙂

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
