It's been a day a long day in the making, but I now think that I think that I'm finally physically able to hang my saxophone off of the wall, there's just one or two small problems. The saxophone wall hangers themselves, we're not exactly spoilt for choice, now I'm giving you good folks until 1pm of Monday December 15 to help me resolve this issue, please note that this is GMT, AKA British Time, United Kingdom Time, or more importantly Nomad's Time, and restricted to ordering from the mainland United Kingdom or U.K. based ebay sellers - I sold my soul years ago I don't care if I help a serial tax dodger dodge more taxes.

Now as you can imagine I'm quite excited about the prospect of finally being able to do something manly and useful around the house, looking gorgeous reclined on the sofa does eventually become tedious and boring believe it or not, even though I do it so well and make it look so easy. So my master plan is this, by the end of next week I will not only hang up a guitar or 2 but hang saxophone off of the wall as well, hence the strict Monday 1pm time limit.

Now cafesaxophoners your mission is two fold should you decide to accept the mission. Firstly there is the locating of and buy of a saxophone wall mount, and secondly there is the actual getting of ones hands dirty and doing the actual graft. And did I mention that there is a fast approaching deadline - 15/12/2014 @ 1pm, so I'm hoping for a lot of help here people, slacking will not be tolerated - I will hide the prawn cocktail flavoured pringles, try me

Now over the last week or so I have been squirreling away the much needed supplies for this endeavor, I have the correct mounting kits - yes plural there is at least 1 bass guitar that will be mounted on the wall at the same time as the saxophone, fo.r both solid and dry wall, I have all the guitar mounting brackets - it's actually a headstock hook. What I need dfrom you guys is a saxophone mounting bracket, I'm planning on mounting an alto saxophone and so far this has been about the best source of saxophone mounts I have been able to find : http://www.sax.co.uk/accessories-saxophone-stands-locoparasaxo-wall-mounted-stands.irc

With this bracket being my favourite : http://www.sax.co.uk/locoparasaxo-parker-alto-sax-wall-mounted-sax-stand.ir

Now this is where you good people - and ProfJames if he feels so inclined, come in to play, is this basically all there is to choose from for wall mounting a saxophone? Does anybody know of any other types of saxophone wall mounts? Pleasegive me liks, smoke signals flairs I don't know but the dead line for ordering in 1 pm on the 15/12/2014 so that I can have all the work finished by next weekend - there are a lot of guitars to go up.

Thanks in advance for all the slave labour.

That's the wife's and my compromise, she found that the stands and racks where gettig in her way, and takig up too much room, and having cases about the living room and hallways, forget having cupboards big enough for guitars inside guitar cases and oher suff That I ageed to hang up all my guitars and saxophone. It's sort of become my next physical milestone to prove to myself that I'm making progress and getting physically better. I'm rather looking forward to it I have all the guitar stuff*, all I need to get which I given myself of the deadline of onday 1pm is ordering the saxophone wall bracket, so far I can only find 1 style for 1 retailer.

That's the one I would use if I was inclined to hang my alto on the wall.

Take a look here

Thank you for a quote not designed to frighten me, it does turn things from being that guitar to part of the home decor, it also makes me feel like I'm growing up a little if trurth be told, I have a 8 years old daughter running about in a hose full of guitars on sofas and guitar stands, they really do need to be put away sensibly especially since I still play them, I do need to grow up, but surely there us more than 1 style of saxophone holder! Sax.co.uk seem to sell the only style available, there is no other style available, I'm a little disappointed to be honest.

I'd stay well away from tools or anything sharp till the medication wears off.

If there was anyone that I though might of been able to point me in the direction of a different from the mainstream design, it was you Colin, what happened? Please restore my faith in humanity and show me that there are indeed multiple saxophone wall mounts available. Thanks for your concern, I do plan on taking it safe, I've been planning, measuring dozens of times, it will be a doddle, nothing heavier than 5kg and nothig below my hips or too far above my head, no stretching needed or involved, it's being planned meticulously to impress the wife. Ladies just imagine a gillette commercial.

It's nice te feel ''special''.

Another option is to put up "slatwall" and then you can hang as many saxes as you like and move them around.

I had a look at these, but as you say yourself you require ''slatwall'' which in itself would take up a lot longer to put up than the 3 screw/bolt models I've been finding, I like your positioning.

Whilst I'd like to display mine, it's not a practical thing to do as they would just attract dust which will gunk up the mechanism in no time at all.

Play your sax, use a pull through, leave on the stand overnight, put back in its case. Do not use a "stuffer" inside the sax. That's my advice.

...unless yours is purely for decoration of course?

Surely there must be more than one style of wall mounts for saxophones or is this like some monopoly that I and I alone have discovered, which it all sounds rather dubiously convenient, given how I'm needing a saxophone wall mount and there is only one model make the decision maing part of this process incredably simplistic, whic leads me to the concusion that setting up a saxophone wall munt will be harder than quantum physics or latin.

Just to rub it in with ProfJames and demonstrate to him my infinite wisdom and patience in all things great and small, in a little over seventeen and a half hours I will be ordering the most alluring, sensual, and seductive ligature known to exist, all those who are known to have gazed apon it have experienced everything from hot flushes, to the full on earth moving under their feet . I will patiently wait for the phone call from the Borders General Hospital at around 1.30 in the afternoon tomorrow, with the results from the bloodwork they took from me Friday past about the results from my liver and kidney tests and ow they are doing this fortnight - 12/12/14, I will be given my good results, they are going to be good again, they have always been good, and I am always going to have good results, I'm being very good with my exercises, diet, and mediciation. Now I don't know all the technical jargons nor what all the thingy majiggies are called and all what they may do, but what I do know is the result I am waiting to recieve tomorrow is based between 4 and 10, anything over 4 is good, I want that, I don't want to be below 4, everything below 10 is also good I don't want to be over 10, due to the nasty antibiotics I am on, and they are nasty - one of them makes my pee fluorescent pink in colour it's that strong, it would of been nice if they warned me about this before hand rather than have the laugh of me panicking and freaking out the first time I saw it, that I have to get this specific test done every fortnight, that's right every fortnight - that's 14 days for you people south of the border, I have to suffer the indignity of handing over to a very very attractive nurce a urine receptacle filled with fluorescent pink pee, there is just no way to live down the shame, but it generally only takes about 10 - 15 seconds before everybody in the reception area knows I have fluorescent pink pee, I'm famous in the local surgery because of it. Last fortnight I was reading 8 and 4, it was the same for the 3 tests before that, but 5 tests ago it was 9 and 4, so if anything in 10 weeks it has improved by 1 point.

So I will not order this ligature until I have finished tomorrows phone call with the hospital, because it's not just the ligature that is being ordered, ProfJames has forgotten already, I plan on ordering a saxophone wall mount as well from sax.co.uk at the same time as well, and I thought ProfJames was getting inyo saxophone wall mounting so he could at least point out another company that does saxophone - alto saxophone, wall mounts because right now the only model and the only company that does saxophone wall mounts is sax.co.uk and that is the only model available.

So come on people help a fellow saxophone player out who wants to tidy upa little and wall mount his saxophone, there must be more than one model of saxophone wall mount available in the U.K. and there surely must be more than one shop in the U.K. that sells saxophone wall mounts.

I still have not broken yet ProfJames, I will not order the insanely seductive, alluring, provocative and sensual ligature yet, I have the strength of character to set it as my background photo on my laptop and wait till after I hear from the hospital brfore I speed dial sax.co.uk to order the ligature and wall mount for overnight delivery - unless somebody somewhere can find not only another shop that sells saxophone wall mounts but different models of them too.

Well I'll be, there's a whole lotta ranting going on right there now good folks, there is no need to works yourselves up into a good ole fashioned panic.

Nomad................look at the post prior to your last post.......I have already found other sax mounts for you! And......I haven't stopped yet....

Well hot damn ProfJames came through while I was typing out my massive rant

If these turn out to be of the same sensual, alluring, seductive, provocative and spectacular nature of the ligature I've been fantasising over, I may have to throw caution to the wind, live dangeriously and order that ligature today as well as the wall mount. And to hell with the unrestrained consequences.

Can I get me some of that there amen brother.

You're on a roll, keep it up ProfJames and I may even get out the prybar today and pry open my wallet to buy the insanely alluring ligature - I think I'm starting to feel unnatural feelings towards a ligature, should I be worried ProfJames? You have your mouthpieces right, my thing with ligatures is just the same sort of thing but not as extreme right ProfJames?
