Ever heard if it?

The guy who makes tham has a few things to say about SOTW in the video on his website.

Has anyone tried one of these and are they any good

I wonder if the guy who makes them says they are good or bad >:)

I should imagine that if this increases the speed of air flow it may make it louder but (as a relative novice) I would suggest that good diaphragm and breath control combined with the right mouthpiece/reed combo would not only work as well/better, you'd get much more flexibility that way.

Just my [ill]informed view. :)

I never really felt all that welcome on SOTW

I think it is just too big and you do feel like a very small fish in a very big pond.

I don't even think I was a fish. maybe a pond skater or a tadpole.

So in a roundabout way what I am trying to say is no, I am not aware of his reputation.

What was/is his name on SOTW, I will go and have a look:)

he had many names, that was the problem. He is a manufacturer but would pose on forums pretending to be a customer. He is also reputed to have taken a lot of money upfront from people and not delivered the goods. Beware.

Thanks for the warning Danny

I am unlikely to buy anything from this guy but I am very curious about all things sax so I would like to know if these things work or not.

Welcome to the forum by the way

Neck enhancer = utter rubbish. Snake oil of the lowest possible grade. It's a plumbing reducer which should cost £2. He punts them out at $100 to the gullible. The only possible difference it can make is to make the mouthpiece fit the neck a bit less precisely. Makes me angry that wide-boys push this sort of **** to people for such a ludicrous amount of money.

I have to add,it was on this site where they told me my sax was utter rubbish and that i should give up any attempt of playing it!:(

Okay ~ I'll admit it - before I found the BR last fall - (after a 20+ year hiatus from playing) I got sucked in by this guy's explanation - ordered one of the things - it does look like a piece of plumbing - but it arrives in a blue velvety bag and all the inserts seem scientific so I proceeded to try and use it. I kept trying to get the thing to fit properly to no avail. Was unable to return it - unable to vent anywhere about how ripped off I felt. I don't like to name names, but this particular person was VERY unprofessional.

All I needed was a box of new reeds, and increasing practice time every day to get my chops back. No gimmicky thingy can replace good old fashioned hard work.

That piece of plumbing now resides at the bottom of my septic system.....where it belongs.
