RIP Tommy Whittle

I'm genuinely sad to read that Tommy Whittle died 10 days ago on his 87th birthday. For me, he was the greatest of the British tenor players - and for once a home-grown jazzman got a decent obituary:

Tommy Whittle

This is the page I devoted to Tommy on my website:

Please have a listen to a great artist.

Zelda - he was a true talent. Sadly I never got to hear him live (I haven't lived in the UK since 1977) but his recordings are truly wonderful.
I'm still listening/watching him now. 49.51 min. - Tommy Whittle onboard Saga Pearl 2 on YouTube. Right now, with his wife, Barbara Jay, on vocals. I'm watching/listening to The Girl from Ipanema. Thanks for posting this. Gotta go, lol, they're doing Take the "A" Train!
