So, I got a pack of new mouthpiece protector pads and started to peel off the old one which I had chewed through, and wow, was I surprised at the amount of sticky residue left by it!
I tried gently cleaning it with a soapy water solution, but it doesnt touch the stuff. I dont want to damage the Hard Rubber Meyer No.6, and so I'n not sure what solvent I should apply. Any idea folks?

I would use naptha (lighter fluid) before isopropyl alcohol. It might work better.

Both of those thinks are OK to use on hard rubber, but don’t soak the mouthpiece in them. Just apply a little with a soft cloth and wipe.

You probably know this but don’t let warm water near it, it will discolor the piece. Lukewarm, like for baby formula is OK, but no hotter.

Thank you. Yes, I did learn that the hard way. I have a discoloured Yani MP from trying to clean it under the hot water tap. I could have kicked myself!

Tried Olive oil...didnt touch the glue at all. Didnt have naptha availabe so went with isoprop alcohol. That worked but still had to scratch at the glue with finger nail..... god knows what it is but it was tough to remove!
Cleaned off with cold water and polished off with olive oil. What a job!
Thank you all for the help and advice.
