Reed in the Throat ?

New Member
I am having a problem that I have never had before. I am looking for a solution or some ideas that could lead to a solution.

While playing I get choked up on what feels like a piece of reed stuck in the back of my throat. At first I was thinking that the reed chipped and I swallowed it. But after further investiging it, nothing is really in my throuat. So I am assuming that it is just air. I attempted to drink some water before playing another arrangment. However it continues to happen after playing a few measures and taking a breathe.

Has anyone else ever had this or something similar happen to them? If so, please let me know what you did to prevent it from happening. Just for the record I am not new at playing I been at it for about 15years. Thanks.
