Hi

I notice that some people use a kind of device to modify the sound of their recordings. Wonder what kind of device is that?? A mixer???

Is it possible to use software to do this??

I think the mixer is purely an interface for the mic. It allows a mic using an XLR type plug to then be converted into a small jack plug or a usb, that you would plug into your "line in" or usb port, on your computer. Any editing or effects are then added through programs like Audacity, Garage band or Cubase (there are loads of programs to choose from)
