Same again,
This is very rare sax, and when speaking with many repairers here this may be the only one left in existence,
Franz Michl TANGO ORCHESTRA.. Made in Bohemia c1930. A

mazing name on any sax, plays like a brute to be honest, very bright and vibrant, rolled tone holes, micro tuner neck, similar to, Conn Chu and some Kohlerts.

Completely overhauled, and I am letting this go for a stupid price- financial suicide one might say, £600 to any forum member within the UK and EU. 5% to the charity. £20 postage @ 24 hr insured within the UK, same terms, pay via Worldpay over the phone, bank transfer- always preferred or if you must use paypal, then you pay the fees- or send as gift only.

Take it before I change my mind, I am loathed to sell it, especially at such a low price being rare, this is also a sax for those of you who like to make a hell of a lot of noise!

Thank you, It would be my absolute pleasure to allow you to try it Aldevis, I do not think anyone could be disappointed with it, I have to be honest, I play the Dolnet, my favourite as like that French smokey sound, but I do take this out of the case and it does leave me rather awestruck... peering down the bell thinking, where did all that come from 🙂

I am selling my alto saxes as wish to go back to Tenor... I miss Tenor ever so much, hence why I love the Dolnet!

Superlative horn offered for very little money indeed! I can definitely say that this should be part of anyone’s serious collection of saxophones and excellent example of a top quality instrument sold by a top quality vendor.

Hi Kev, I cannot find a serial number, however, as far as I am aware it is not a stencil and was made my Franz Michl as they made saxophones from I believe 1930 onwards.

Franz learned in Graslitz at the company "Bohland & Fuchs. He founded his company C1887. He was a brass wind instrument maker and instrument dealer/ retailer. In the Musical Instrument making area of the Vogtland , Markneukirchen and Klingenthal stretched across the Czech-German border, the Czech side being predominantly German speaking. The firm of Franz Michl had branches on both sides.

This is the information I have found out about him, I believe Milandro may know much more than myself,..Thank you Milandro for your kind words above!

I shall keep the horn up for sale for two weeks, hope this is enough, it is a reluctant sale but I just do not play it- I keep it in the case all shiny and lovely waiting for a discerning buyer to come by and try it, I do not think you shall find another and is a giveaway at the price on the forum. If it does not sell then I shall just keep it in the Mel saxophone Museum 😀

well, speaking from experience, I know it is nice to have had the pleasure to briefly own those horns and it is a pleasure and a honor to have been able to pass them on to others.

I love when people who bought my horns tell me how much they like them.

I know you love it too. We couldn’t have seen and learnt so much on saxophones if we hadn’t bought them and eventually sold them to buy yet another saxophone.........

Well done Melissa! Ad Maiora!

Thank you Aldevis, I really enjoyed that!

Maybe the bear feels inadequate because he he didn't develop a Latin sensibility.
I am sure that it will be easier for our Cafe Ladies.
