Here for sale Rampone & Cazzani neck red brass (85% Copper) neck, "XX" profile, in bare brass finishing, for the tenor saxophone.
These are the three profiles:

This is a "Mark II" neck version.
What the f**k does it means?
R&C in the middle introduced a "new" bore for the tenor necks (I like to call "Mark II"), this for improving the response and the intonation, expecially in the mid-high and high register.
These thing are well noticeable... and the different bore is also noticable by a close view.
Here I'm selling a XX neck.

Horns from middle 2010 still came with this "new bore" necks.

The XX neck has a different design than the "standard" neck (have a look at the profiles pics above), more open angle: less resistance, slightly more perceived volume, more midrange complexity.
It opens up the sound, without losing the typical R&C fatness.

How does this neck work?
It pratically works as Joe Lovano explains how his "more open angle." neck works:

You can play down into the horn and not up into the neck.
Difficult to describe but R&C with this neck profile wanted to give this feeling.
Comparing with a Borgani "Lovano" neck, this neck is even something more open angled.

This neck fits only into R&C tenor, R1 and R1 Jazz.

The neck is in "like new" conditions. The cork is new.

You'll find photos of three different neck:
- "standard" silver plated, Mark I
- "X1" silverplated, Mark II
- "XX" bare brass, Mark II

I also made few sound samples:
X silver plated neck: http://tzadik.xoom.it/Rampone_tenor_necks/traccia%201_038.mp3
XX bare brass neck: http://tzadik.xoom.it/Rampone_tenor_necks/traccia%201_039.mp3
I intentionally recorded the sample with a bright reed, a Giuliani "Jazz" #3,5 (made by Rigotti, something like a Rigotti Gold 3,5 Medium or François Louis #3,5).
For the recording, I used a Kel HM-2D microphone, placed very close to the bell (about 5 inches): this for emphasizing the differences
No equalization nor compression neither additional reverb.

Price: EUR 265 (two hundred and sixty five euros) shipped with registred mail (with tracking service).
I'll be happy to donate 5% to the
forum charity fund (if I sell it through this forum).
These neck go new for EUR 330+. They are hard to find outside of Italy.

Currency conversion: XE: (EUR/GBP) Euro to British Pound Rate
XE: (EUR/USD) Euro to US Dollar Rate

Who do I recommend this neck to?
1) people who already own an R&C R1/R1 Jazz tenor sax and what an additional way to have a different color on his horn
2) people who'd like to buy a R&C tenor horn, but he/she's a bit scared by the "biggest" bore.
This neck (this XX profile) turn the R&C tenor more "traditional" in terms of "playing experience" (control of the stream of air... and blowing resistance).
