What are the differences between a valve tenor trombone, a marching trombone and a bass trumpet, please?

Are all transposing? Allowing for the fact that I never got round to playing 'screamer' on my tenor slide, does the bass trumpet have the same range and what, if any, is the advantage of a C valve trombone?
