Mouthpieces PPT soprano mouthpiece

Hi can anyone advise on what size would suit me.

I currently play alto and have a PPT 5 which I really like. I use it with legere signature 2.

I am switching to a bauhaus curved soprano and I am not sure which size mouthpiece to get.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

When I play alto I use a PPT 5 and use a 5 on sop. 🙂

Agree with Jeanette. But add that if the size doesn't suit, Pete will exchange or refund if you cover postage and a restocking fee and don't damage the piece.

You have oredered a 6, is that what you meant to do?

Hi Pete, yes I changed my mind because having checked the tip openings I think the 6 is closest in opening size to my ppt alto. Thanks

Yes, but for many people the tip size is relative to the mouthpiece size. So a 5 on alto should feel like a 5 on soprano even though the 5 on soprano is a smaller tip.

So theoretically a 5 on soprano has the same resistance as a 5 on alto.

PPTs are not always quite like that as they are sort of unique in that the design of each SATB is different.

For instance I play a PPT 7 on soprano.
PPT 8* on alto
PPT 9* (or 10*) on tenor
PPT 8* on baritone
