Hi To You All.

Very nice new site Pete, Thank you very much for all of your hard work.

I am very pleased to start with a new optimistic posting.
I Have been given the chance to start-up a jam session in one of the pub's in the city, so i guess this is a bit of a feasbility study.

There is only one jam in the city that i know of....... and that is an ear spliting experience where it is next to imposible to hear yourself unless you a playing on a Dukoff 9D & above high D.

Many year,s ago i was given the chance to sit-in with many old jazzer,s that have now long passed away, God bless them! The first time was a heart racing and disasterous episode for me.... but a steep and fast, leaning curve!

My aim with this one is for it to be as easy going as possible whether you want to play a Standard,a Blues, or some Funk. All will be Wellcome.
I will be there with a first class Rhythm section(all very nice n easy guys)....But i want to sit at the bar and let you guy,s get stuck-in.
So please let me know if you will support this with your's & your freinds attendace.

My Regards to you all

ManEast

P.S It will be on a Mon or Tuesday.

It's scary out in the woods all alone
I also work odd hours but I have wanted something like this around Hampshire so I the least I can do is come and embarress myself when I can.

Great idea, just what I've been looking for.

Count me in, where, when (can't wait to compare Borgani's!).

hi all
this could be an interesting idear
i have not been playing as much as i could lately and this would kick my ass into start practising properly again
i'd be up for it

???????????????????? This is going well...Not! ???????????????????????

How about setting a time and venue for all of us Pompey and Hampshire types to meet and see how many turn up?
Just a thought, otherwise this will fizzle...

If I could sort out a regular venue (possibly for free) in Southampton with a rhythm section, would some of you guys be interested?

Be nice for a laid back jam without too many sneering types telling you that you missed some strange chord with a funny name!

Ive been thinking about doing this for some time but not had any idea if it would be popular enough to run on a regular basis.

Let me know if you are interested,

Dan

I'd be 100% up for this, especially on a Tuesday.

I know quite a few sax/trumpet/trombone players in the area who'd come along too. Probably a bass player too.

Just let me know when and where!

Hi, I'm taking a guess that the venue would be the king street tavern? Or are you looking at somewhere else?

Did you get in touch with Pompey uni? There are loads of players, especially in the big band that would be interested. I can certainly pass the info on when it's sorted (I'm running the big band).

Lee.

I had you guys in mind from day 1 ...what took you so long:)))
Will keep you well posted. This could be good!

Thanks Man

Ricky

I'm sure you wouldn't embarrass yourself. Jam sessions like this and so on are all about getting up there and giving it a go, seeing what you can do and enjoy it.
