I am installing a new audio playlist player and would like people to test for me in different browsers and operating systems please.

It seems to be OK in current versions of Safari, Firefox and Chrome, but I especilally want people have Internet Explorer and older browsers to try.

The test page is here:

Deadlink Removed

Please test that the audio works, and this is what it should look like (although the image icon should change depending on playlist selected) Many thanks

works ok in IE9 and Opera 11.61 - the only problem is it makes my laptop sound like the 1950's..

OK on IE8 & XP.

Then I tried it again and it failed, something about unable to open a file. Can't reproduce, though. will try again.

One comment - the mouse pointer disappears, it's OK when it's a finger for selecting something, but when it's a vertical bar it's almost invisible.

Managed to get it to do it again.

Message was:

"SM2 failed to start. Flash missing, blocked or security error? Status: INIT_TIMEOUT"

in a pop-up with and OK button.

May be related to the often slow responses I get from here.

Also early version of IE 8 is fine ...

Google Chrome on windows 7 works well. I was very surprised at how fast it was. There was almost no delay between starting the player and swapping between play lists. All images and writing were clear. The only place my mouse pointer became a vertical line was over the words "Choose your play list" other than that it changed from an arrow to a pointing finger as you would expect.

Looking good so far.

It's very difficult to find a way to play stuff that works on everything. Flash used to be alright, but it's on the way out.

HTML5 is on the way in but not perfect and not supported on older browsers.

Thanks everybody for checking, it's wonderful to have such a resource.

BTW, if anyone is still using IE 6, hmmm… I've given up on that now.
