Gigs & releases Pink Floyd Tribute Band looking for saxophone player

Hello everyone!

I have a Pink Floyd tribute band in Tampa/FL and we’re looking for a sax player that also can play acoustic guitar. Backing vocals and some percussion abilities would be wonderful.

The player would be a permanent member of the band!

For more information, search for The Heart of the Sun Band on the web!

Or text me on 1-970-825-9359

Thanks a lot!

I always wanted to like Pink Floyd but never quite made it. I bought their second album and played it once. Even so I went to see them in somewhere like Leeds or Bradford where they introduced their Azimuth Converter so the sound whizzed around the room; innocent days.

There was some good stuff in their early work, I remember listening to "Echoes" for the first time and it blew me away. There was another song that I liked but I can't find it. Then they drifted off into their "signature sound" and some of the Dark Side of the Moon was good, no question but there was a lot of beating that dead horse, too.
Wish you were here was a refreshing breeze of lightness but it was killed by its own success. I saw them in concert once and it was great, part of it because they had the best audio equipment at the time and you could actually hear what every member was playing instead of being clobbered into deafness.

They certainly left their signature in the history of rock music, which is more than what many other one hit wonders achieved.

I think Syd threw himself out but they would surely have been something else if he hadn't crashed. Probably not a huge international industry.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
