Hi
I'm selling the following alto mouthpiece:-

HR Meyer 7M (0.081”), refaced, baffle and chamber work by Phil Engleman (Phil-Tone) in the US.
Superb playing mouthpiece. Phil's work is well respected so explanaition of this piece is hardly necessary. But it plays beautifully, sings from top to bottom, is reed friendly and flexible. 2 screw lig and plastic cap included.
£110 ($170) - ships free first class post in the UK. International Signed For additional £10.
5% of sale price to be donated.

PM if interested.

The mouthpiece is sold as secondhand, but is in near perfect condition, it's been hardly used.
I bought it new about 10 years ago, but didn't play it, I tended to play a metal yani as it suited the music I was playing at the time. I then gave up playing altogether in 2003, and the mouthpiece sat in a draw (and my horns in the loft). I started playing again last year, and got my mouthpieces out and started trying things out, and settled on another HR mouthpiece I used to play, a Bari Ebonite.
I read on the SOTW forum about refacing etc, and Phil-Tone's work got lot's of praise, so I sent the Meyer to him to see what he could do with it (modern Meyer's have a reputation for being a bit thin up the top and Phil's work sets to correct this and make the scale more even).
Here is a quote from an email from Phil :-
"The piece would be a tiny bit darker, mostly what you would notice is that
the bottom end of the horn would be less barky and thin. Also Meyers tend
to be really thin in the highs. What I do would change that and broaden the
sound and increase the color palate a bit. Of course if there are any
facing or table issues those would be taken care of"

So, the piece is in near new condition, with a reface as described above (so the tip, rails, and table are all perfect.) It's a great player, but I'm just after a different sound, and think it ought to be played rather than sitting in a draw.

Hope this helps
Andy
