A wee while ago I was asking about online tutors, as I wanted to get back into learning following a long-ish break. I have to say, I think I have found just the right guy if anyone is interested to take a look. Firstly, I want to make it clear that this is meant as no disrespect to anyone else, as there are some absolutely wonderful pro-players/tutors out there, and indeed this very website and its founder are as good as it gets.
That said, I have recently found a guy who I really resonate with (excuse the pun), and to say he makes learning ‘fun’ is an understatement. I know we all have our own preferences when it comes to learning a new skill, or improving on one we already have. Some like no-nonsense hard graft, when others like a more laid back approach. I guess I’m somewhere in the middle.

Anyway, the guy I’m talking about seems to have a way of imparting information in a way that is both entertaining and easy to digest. Ive actually learned more from him in a short time than I thought possible, and thats just his you tube channel (not paid lessons or whatever).

The channel is “Lynden Blades”. Lynden is a thoroughly nice chap, and he replies to all emails. I personally have no affiliation to him, and as such this is just my personal opinion. Interestingly I did sign up to another online tutor for a year subscription before I found Lynden, and I have no regrets there as it is great value for money too.

Well, I guess we are blessed in these times huh, with the world at our fingertips so to speak.

What a coincidence. I just discovered Lynden Blades as well, on You Tube. I'm hooked!

I feel he explains things so well, and unlike a lot of You Tube, his channel is more about you, the player, rather than how great he is!

Thankfully I also have a great music teacher whose teaching style is not dissimilar to Lynden Blades.

I also suggest the three Taming the Saxophone books/material available on this website if you want clear lucid explanations.

Plus, I recommend Gracie Terzian, and Brad Harrison Music if you are looking for plain simple music theory instruction.

I am not affiliated to any of the above! I just think they are great 😃
I subscribed to quite a few saxophone channels on You Tube, but I'm learning to whittle these down to a handful of useful ones that suit my learning style.
