I didn't research it first, I didn't know the brand beforehand, I loved the way it looked and then I played it...I LURVE this Sax. The lower register was as easy to play as the middle, the upper register was as smooth as honey. Even my husband noticed the difference immediately. I actually felt as though I could play like a sax player and it fits my hands like it was meant for them. So.. .I put an amount down that was practically equal to what I'd hoped to pay total, signed on the dotted line for another 9 months payments and brought my beautiful new Tenor home.
Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary and I'm as happy as I was on my wedding day - I can hardly drag myself away from it to go out for the evening.
Oh yes - it's a Cannonball T5 in a black brushed nickel finish, 2 crooks (only tried one so far)
BTW I did take my own mpcs and strap at least !

I don't believe I just said that....
Congrats on the new sax by the way:sax:

Tut tut, Taz. With that nice Mr Thomas away and on her wedding anniversary as well....!
Sounds like a good buy though Aly!

Thank you ;}

I have to go and compete at an Agility competition today - I would take it but it would cause a riot amongst all those Collies 6am is too early to wake the neighbours I suppose...?

Congrats on the tenor. Coincidently 2nd May is my wife and I's W.A. (36th in our case), also her birthday as we got married on her 21st. Hope you had as nice a day as we did. We went for lunch by the beach. There was a really good alto player there busking to tango backing tracks, beautiful tone, almost dreamy.

A certain young Dooce around here will concur with your thoughts on Cannonball, sounds like you've got one similar to his, all blinged up!

Nice one, good luck with it.

Congratulations to all celebrating new saxes, annis and b'days....the 1st was my bro's 80th bd and we had a big family get together in a small Suffolk pub....excellent!

Thanks to all who have replied :)
Just got back from Newbury Showground where we had a good but long day - Merlyn got a clear round and got upgraded to Novice which is great :) So all in all a brilliant weekend. I am sunburned but shivery cold cos the wind has been evil today.
Once I stop shivering the sax is coming out for a bit of a play and a photo op :)

Aly,
Cannonballs are not for a tender, innocent young ladies, much too raucous and uncivilized.
Out of consideration for your disappointment, I am willing to offer you five pounds compensation and a further five pounds to Pete's charity when you deliver this instrument to my door.
Save yourself from this devilish device.

Welcome to the small and exclusive Cannonball club (we want our own forum and we want it NOW!!).

Where did you get yours from, Amaranth? I've only ever seen odd single instruments in shops and mine was secondhand - I'm not sure that they actually have a proper UK dealer.

I bought it from Dawsons in Reading - they had ordered it direct from Cannonball in Utah (?) for a customer who then failed to collect it.
It was the only Tenor on display and it is exquisite IMO. Brand new and had never been played apparently until I stuck my Yam 5C on it and gave it a blow!
I bought it for £50 more than they paid for it and used the Arts Council Take it away scheme to do so.
I paid £1,273 and tbh I don't regret a penny.

You are so right - it is a monster but It is MY monster and we are going to have wonderful adventures together ;}
So thank you for your offer kind sir but I must regrettfully decline...
Now how to post a picture...?
Aly

A rapidly growing club, based on our sales down in Crowborough!

So are you official dealers Jools or do you just order them in as required? The only new Cannonball I've ever seen was in your place round about Christmas, but just the one example from what I could see.

Wow, that thing looks mean...it complements your cloths color as well.

Enjoy...

I think you look pretty comfortable with each other. Nice!:mrcool

How very kind of you :)
I have practice tomorrow - hope the band likes the new team :)
