The Saxophones shown are all Trevor James Rev IIs.

Have just started to play the straight soprano.

And think a curved soprano may be better for my needs >:)

I am looking at John Packer JP043C Curved Soprano Saxophone £344.96 in del

Any replies thought's would be much appreciated

Thanks Teebones (Tony) :mrcool

Hi Tony,

I tried a straight sop but just couldn't get on with it:( so it went back to the Devils Junkyard.
Then a very kind Cafe Sax member advertised a curved JP043 in the Yard sale - which I bought.
And I'm loving it:welldone:welldone
Very easy to blow, lovely sound, and 'seems' to play in tune!
You might need to invest in a better mouthpiece than the one which comes with it.

Go on, you know you want one!

Good morning everyone,

Sunray, having seen pics of your place, I think it would take the combined forum membership, months to paint it!!

Back to topic:-
Is there really that amount of difference between straight and bent sops?

Sorry for my absence (no internet for nearly 3 weeks, due to local inefficiency).

John.

It's been over ten years since I first started the job ... :w00t:

I intend to finish it off this year, by Xmas ...

I'm knackered ... ;}

I've just played a curved soprano a short while, but I couldn't hear any difference. But on the other hand, I'm terrible on soprano so maybe not the right person to judge. I have five straight sopranos, that's weird!

Teebones, nice room. It seems like most players on this forum have nice homestudios with good equipment.
