Hi there and welcome to a new Breakfast Room feature!😎

This weeks sax player is Iain Ballamy, recently featured on the CD "Three Windows", along with Mark Wingfield (Guitar) and Jane Chapman (Harpsichord)
which features some brilliant tunes and playing of the highest order. Iain was a founder member of Loose Tubes, and seems to have a very lyrical style on this CD. Samples are available online and I'd be interested in what you think of this particular combo.

Kind regards
Tom😎

Thanks Tom

I will check them out.

I really liked Loose Tubes but I was surprised to find nothing on youtube featuring them.

I did find a little about Django Bates but that was about all

I too share you love of Jan Gabarek. I discovered his music when I used to live in Norway where he is revered.

I've had the new CD for about a week and think that it is really fantastic - includes various African influences.

The new Saxophonist of the week is Altoist Steve Buckley, with his new album
"Big Air" (Babel 2009), on which he stars with Trumpeter Chris Batchelor, and three other musicans. It was reviewed recently by the Guardian/Observer who gave it a 5 star rating. Oren Marshall is awesome on Tuba!;}

Happy listening.
Kind regards
Tom😎
