Gone West
This saxophone is probably late 60's early 70's made by the Beaugnier factory in Paris serial number 139XX, it was not exported to be assembled elsewhere as some of the later ones were, Made in France is clearly visible on the bell.

It has scratches and pitting in accordance with it's age, if you require any more photos to ascertain condition please ask, and it plays as well as most French tenors I have played.

It also has retained it's "pants guard" which frequently goes missing from these models and has the switchable "G#" mechanism if you wish to use it, again info about this this can be found on the internet.

There are no extras eg sling, mouthpiece and the stand in the pics is not included, it will come in a usable solid case.

Price is £300 ono of which 5% to forum.

I have been an admirer of these horns for a long time and I am loathe to part with it but it deserves to be played.

Insanely cheap!

Looking at your equipment list you are one who knows how good these tenors are, unfortunately the market does not seem to. I've had this on and off commission sale at a large local music dealer for quite a while (I kept borrowing it back when my 10m needed anything doing), not one offer. It had to go, I have been become entrapped by a younger model called Yana Gisawa or something.

This horn needs to be played, I'll be happy if it gives someone else pleasure.

I will only tell you that my tech who is a Selmer guy 100%, is now a Beaugnier enthousiast.
This is horn is cheap even at 1500GBP for what it delivers IMHO.

These horns have really good build quality and full warm sound.

Good luck with your sale 🙂

Hi,
Would you mind posting or sending me some more photos of the sax with close ups that show the bell, the stack keys, the LH table and some pads. I am interested in this horn but really need to know the condition of the pads and the body (dents, resolders etc) before I can make a decision.

Thanks a lot,

Jazz Is All
