Beautiful moods created with total integrity. Mike's playing is extremely distinct as he pulls in sonic ideas and cuddles them. I'm not familiar with anyone else who sounds like him with his rich warm tone and unafraid to use a fairly wide vibrato.

The beauty of this music could also be a limiting factor as it would be easy for many listeners to relegate it to background. Today's listeners aren't used to quiet intensity or letting themselves be drawn into a flow that doesn't have formulated bangs and climaxes. It could be thought of as out of place and out of time, but it's also outstanding.
