Accessories New case, highly recommended!

Hi All,

I got a new case today as I'm going to be taking it out and about more now I've joined a band, plus the zip on my standard one is starting to play up and split open.

I finally decided on this case after looking on here at a few reviews and a recommendation from my teacher, so thanks all for the info :thumb:

It's a Hiscox Artist Alto case, and I must say it is very very sturdy! which is good as I'm going to be strapping it to the back of my Vespa 🙂 When the case arrived I was surprised at how light it was, from the pictures I've seen it did look sturdy but also very heavy but, this is not the case.

It holds my Trevor James sax very securely and there is more space in this than my standard case, making the Hiscox like a Tardis as the external dimensions are a lot smaller!
The only thing that is missing though is a pocket at the front for storing music and other bits, although I should be able to store the other bits in the case itself now due to more space, and once I've scanned all my music in I can just carry it all around on my Android tablet 🙂

I haven't used it in the real world yet but, I'll keep you updated if anything bad happens, like it falling off the back of my Vespa  I have stood on it a few times with no adverse affects so touch wood it should survive a fall if the worst happens.

This one was £176 but they also do a Pro II version for £126 and a standard case for £90. This Artist version might be a little over the top for some people but I know what my luck is like with get things bashed! so I went with the slightly tougher one.
You can probably get them elsewhere on the net for cheaper but Sax.co.uk have always offered a really good and fast service.

Excellent cases, I have two for alto and they will accomodate modern horns while also giving a nice snug fit to older ones like my Martin Handcraft and Buescher True-tone.

I've just been searching for a tenor Hiscox and find that www.djmmusic.com have the standard case for £73.60!

Yours has a beautiful interior, congratulations.

I have the Pro-II alto case and it is VERY strong, as was the tenor one I had ..... now owned by another member (along with the BW M2!).
With respect to Jason, I think the considerable extra cost of the Artist case makes it a bit stronger, but mostly makes it prettier!

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
