Never sell a mouthpiece!

I don't need another mouthpiece; but . . .

I have an embarrassingly large number of mouthpieces, so I have been planning to sell some of them.
But today I tried one of the ones marked for sale and it's great!
If it sounds as good tomorrow then I will use it as my normal tenor jazz mouthpiece.

I think what has happened is that my taste is changing and a mouthpiece that didn't sound right last year now seems good.

So the moral of the story is: Never sell a mouthpiece (unless it's a real lemon
>:)
).

But I still have an embarrassingly large number of mouthpieces.
Maybe I just need to get over the embarrassment.

I've just sold a couple of pieces, and one of my comments to the new owner "you're always growing into/out of mouthpieces" or words to that effect

I sold my Alto saxophone with absolutely no intention of buying another Alto. (Or so I told wifey).

But I kept my Alto mouthpiece just in case! And it was only a Yamaha 4C. Oh, and a few dozen reeds.

A wise move I'm sure your intention is an honest one, but hey, you never know!
