Nat Birchall... Live

I saw Nat Birchall play at Band on the Wall in Manchester last night. I'm guessing a lot of people probably know him here?. I've got a few of his CD's but i've been meaning to see him with his band live for a while. We were so glad we braved the snow because it was a real treat. Top quality spiritual Jazz. A massive Coltrane influence here with a lush modern edge. Big sound. Highly recommended!

I ordered the Live in Larissa double album too.

Here's a sample..

He played Tenor and Soprano sax.
Which of course has further fuelled my lust for a soprano sax.

I had tickets for Pharoah's concert at RNCM a year or so ago. I was so disappointed when he had to pull out for health reasons. He's a grand old age and i fear i may never see him live. So few of the originals left too see!

he had to sit down a bit when I saw him, but so do I... he's been gigging agin in the USA, so hopefully he'll be back over here
Hope you get to see Pharoah and hope Nat B learned a thing or two from watching him at that gig...
Just before I moved out of Manchester, I got a recording session on the basis that Nat Birchall had turned it down 'cos he didn't think he'd be able to play what was required or at least that's what I was told

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
