I knew a Nancy in High School (hence the pimply face).
Come to think of it we were all a little pimply back then.

Nice, bet she would be pleased to have a song written in her honour :)

There is an interesting story with that song, the writers, one was Jimmy Van Heusen.
BTW. Born Edward Chester Babcock. He renamed himself at age 16, after the famous shirt makers, Phillips-Van Heusen
Anyway they used to pull out this song at parties, and insert a name of one of the girls at the party. One night they sang the song for Sinatra, and inserted his daughters name.. NANCY. Apparently Frank was very moved thinking it had been written specially for his daughter, so they decided to publish it under the name Nancy. Jimmy and Frank remained close friends until Jimmys death, I think they are buried in the same place in California.

BTW. Enjoyed your sounds Nick.
If you get a chance listen to Desmond,s

Thanks Jeanette and Jamesmac.
Interesting story, i had no idea where the title came from.
Nice tune to play.
Will check out Desmond's version.
I'm a big fan of Coltrane's version also.

Such idiomatic playing, wonderful. Love your vibrato and tone.

Also, the recording, I like the left panning with the piano in the right hand channel. Intentional or not, depending on the track, it suits it and reminds me of older recordings.

Blimey, am having a great day today listening to these recordings on this forum.

Thanks Il Padrino for the listen and comments.
I must say the panning was not intentional but glad it suits the tune.
Cheers Nick.
