Ok folks, I'm looking for a name for a one off band project, I've got set up (well, half set up). Jam sessions etc are all well and good, but I like bands- for the identity and common ethos, as well as the 'team' aspect. This one's a three (or possibly four if we get in a bassist or just possibly a scratch DJ/sampler guy) piece grungy hammond organ trio (organ, drums, me on tenor and guitar).... Brian Auger/ Jimmy Smith in a really bad mood, Medeski/Martin/Woods, a bit of 1970s New York jazz punk, slighlty Bitches Brew... funky but quite heavy and a bit disonnant in places....
But it needs a name- 'Hammond-X' has been done before (curses- love that one), 'Graham, Dean & Lawrence' does work as well as 'Emerson, Lake and Palmer' (which wasn't a great name in the first place!), always wanted to call a band 'Redneck Radio' but that's more of one for a rock & roll outfit....
Anyone any ideas... funky, New York No Wave/ CBGBs, hammond organs, film noir, the spiky end of 1960s mod club jazz, etc....?

Oh dear ... this one will bring out all the cliches and daft wordplay!

So I'll kick off with:

Hammond Eggs

(must get out more!)

Later Edit: Whoops, brain not in gear, same as Hammond-X ... should've read original post properly ... I'll come back again later!!!

I can never resist these;

Razorlaugh; Razor Alley; Backstreet Pimps; Backstreet Hoods (a bit "gangsta", that one); BrandNoir; Noise de Noir; Black Teeth; Nettlebed; BrightonFrighten.

Now - any bright ideas for a 12-piece R&B/soul/swing band - remarkably similar to Fat45 actually in line-up and genre?

Brand Noir's a good 'un!
Hm- R&B swing- always liked private detective movie themed names myself- my first jive/r&b outfit was called 'Dime Store Jive Revue'- loved the name, but severely flawed by being difficult to say when drunk!!
Will report back when inspiration hits me...
