So thanks to pete Thomas for the inspiration
Ive made a cheap sax clip on mic too.
It cost me $29 at Jaycar Electronics.
The flexible head is actually a piece of tv ariel coaxial cable ,
it has a copper wire centre and an aluminium outercore covered in rubber.
The clip is a clothes peg with little rubber pads.I might paint that to spiff it up a bit.
I got an extention lead to plug it into the sound card mic inlet on my computer so
I can record myself with Audacity and improve by listening back.
The mic is a cardioid condenser mic but its only a mono one.
Does anyone know if I should have got the stereo one but its unidirectional.
Attached are photos.
Cheers

G'day Alansto,

Looks a good job, you don't say how it sounds when you put it into audacity.

I've got sidetracked with other things with my Jaycar mic, but need to extend the bracket as I have it too close in the bell of the sax getting too much volume and distortion.

Another of my problems (with the macbook pro) is that I can't find out (yet) how to record from either a mic or something on the internet, without the microphone on the laptop also picking up sounds in the room etc.

Cheers

I guess at this point id have to say that it sounds mono
but I have nothing to compare it to yet .
I also havent enough experince with audio recording to know how to get the best out of it yet.
Also I dont know how to post my sound files onto the forum yet .i havent had time yet.
cheers

Hey guys which mic are you using from Jaycar?
I went there to bodge Pete's great cheap clip-on condenser mic and I couldn't figure out the best one to use????
Which would be best? This:

Or this:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AM4101&keywords=tie+mic&form=KEYWORD
or this stereo one:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AM4106&keywords=tie+mic&form=KEYWORD
???
Thanks! :D

the second one is the one ive got but I would like to have tried the 3rd one, so try that.
if its no good then simply take it bak and swap it over for the other! should be ok if you keep packageing in good order
